Alex Luger (adidas Climbing Team) specializes in traditional climbing. Alex’ idols were the great explorers of Eastern Alps stone walls in the 80’s - Martin Scheel i Beat Kammerlander (now also in adidas Outdoor team) and Alex tries to follow their footsteps. It comes as no surprise that one of his greatest achievements is to repeat for the first time one of the most difficult traditional routes in the world Prinzip Hoffnung 8b/8b+ (E9-E10) which was first climbed by Kammerlander. The Austrian’s favourite regions are those, which offer difficult, classic road made up in the ground up style; Rätikon czy Wendenstöcke. He is often present at the difficult, classical routes of Dolomites of Val di Mello.
Alex is one of adidas Outdoor ambassadors. The exclusive adidas Climbing Team, apart from Lunger, also consist of Alexander Huber, Thomas Huber, Beat Kammerlander, Angelika Finkel, Barbara Zangerl, Bernd Zangerl and Michael Lerjen. So the team comprises eight people of four nationalities; eight different characters but one passion – climbing. Their climbing project are as different as their personalities, they are however united by common passion for nature and outdoor sports.
You are most welcome to take part in the press meeting with Alex Lunger on 18th February at 2 pm at the adidas exhibition stand. It will be a wonderful opportunity for the exhibition visitors to listen to the Austrian’s stories about his climbing projects, see the photographs from his exhibitions and become familiar with the latest adidas outdoor brands Terrex Men and Hiking/Trekking; two climbing and trekking product lines for women and men.
