The Targi Kielce Jazz Festival ”Memorial to Miles” has become a permanent fixture in jazz-aficionados' calendars. From Friday to Sunday the Kielce Cultural Centre was a full house filled with music fans
On Saturday there were the two concerts which enjoyed crowds of spectators. At 6 pm the six trumpeters from the famous "Tribute to Andrzej Przybielski" band hit the stage. The project has been created by Maciej Fortuna and dedicated to late Andrzej Przybielski (2011), a jazz trumpeter deeply involved in the Polish avant-garde movement. The Kielce audience witnessed an unusual event: the meeting of six trumpeters and the rhythm section which used to accompany Przybielski for most of his music career. Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet concert began at 8. The band leader is a bass player, composer, a truly unusual artist. His music performances gave rise to the Polish jazz music boom in the early years of the 21st century. Unconventional activities, as for the domestic jazz milieus conditions influenced the new perception of this musical genre in the listeners' minds. On Sunday, the audience listened to the Swedish guitarist and his band – the Ulf Wakenius Trio as well as the charismatic singer – Chinese Moses.
