For the second time, Targi Kielce's International Defence Industry Exhibition includes the formal roll-call of uniformed classes graced with the presence of Antoni Macierewicz, Minister of National Defence
This school year marks the beginning of the military education pilot programme for secondary schools. At his MSPO presentation, Minister Macierewicz highlighted the importance of education for safety and security in today's world.
- The education for safety and security, civil defence trainings, being ready to serve in the army after finishing school education should be widespread. We want to see this as everyday practice in all secondary schools and then higher-education institutions in Poland. Young people want serve in the army, want to serve their homeland. (...) You have shown the whole nation as well as the authorities, that this is high time for Poland to start defending itself, it is high time for Poland to be ready when danger comes. Only those can avoid the danger who are ready to face it. You have shown that you are ready. Please forward the message of the Minister of National Defence - the Polish Army expresses its gratitude - says MOD head in his speech in Targi Kielce.
The ceremony brought together the teachers, students representatives from 250 schools from many parts of Poland. The Świętokrzyskie Region was represented by more than 40 cadets from the School of Mechanical Engineering in Kielce as well as the class from Sandomierz.
