This TRANSEXPO debut will send the shivers

Electric Solaris Urbino to be presented for the first time at the TRANSEXPO 2011 Fair

Solaris Urbino is a 8,9 metre, low entry bus; the first Polish electric drive bus. The vehicle has been equipped with a battery-powered electric motor. The battery is charged in a plug-in mode from an external power source. All the bus systems are electrically operated, i.e. its doors or power steering.

The official debut of the bus is to be held on the first day of the fair (20th September) at 1 p.m. at the Solaris exhibition stand in the E pavilion.

The Solaris Bus & Coach company, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, is a Poland based company; a leading European producer of city transport busses Solaris Urbino, trolleybuses Solaris Trollino, long distance busses InterUrbino, special purpose busses as well as tams Tramino. Ever since the company started its operation in 1996, it has produced over 8000 busses and trolleybuses which are now in service on the roads of 23 countries. Solaris was the company which introduced low-floor busses into Polish market and soon became the leader of this business sector.
