Across Africa journey on a Polish tractor - this is the new challenge for "Traktoriada" team; Polish Ursus is put to the test again. 2017’s AGROTECH held in Kielce is a chance to meet the travellers in person and become familiar with their adventures
The "”Tractor trip Around the World " project started in 2002 by the initiative of Marcin Obałek. It was Obałek’s idea to popularise and disseminate knowledge knowledge about Poland. At that time Obałek was traversing South America on Ursus 6014. Then the tractorcovered 20,000 kilometres. In January 2017 the Traktoriada crew - the two travellers - Marcin Obałek and Piotr Sliwinski set on round-the-globe journey. They intend to get on the UrsusC-328 tractorof 1964 called "Husar" and reach the African Ethiopia. The route is over 6,000 km.
Until now they have already covered more than 1,200km. Before the AGROTECH starts, they intend to reach the African continent. They will have so much to tell the expo audience.
- For example when passing through Slovakia we tested the machine durability for temperature reaching - 40 degrees Celsius! - says Marcin Obałek. - It turned out that tractor both the tractor and us were able to stand to the test; we had to pay the price of riding in an open-top tractor and we caught a cold. This trip is much more than a fascinating adventure for us. This is also a mission to promote the best Polish brands that can be used in Africa - he adds. - This will be discussed at the agricultural expo - AGROTECH held in Targi Kielce.
