- The data related to import of agricultural machines to Ukraine and the upward trends suggest that Ukrainian market is open for modern, foreign technologies - says Dariusz Michalak, Trade Fair Department Director at Targi Kielce, the co-organiser of EuroAgro. 2016's Ukraine's harvest has already reached 99% of the projected values, which indicates Ukrainian farmers' good standing
Ukraine's Ministry of Agriculture revised grain harvest forecast. Today's 63 million tonsis the 5 percent increase compared to the previous prognosis of over 61 million tons. Ukrainian farmers have already gathered the crops of the 9.6 million hectares area, i.e. 99% of assumed quotas. The ha yield has been 39.4 c / ha. These forecasts changes have also translated into wheat exports increase by 2 million tons.
Harvest results indicate that, despite the difficult internal situation agriculture remains the driving force for Ukraine's economy. This is a good signal for agricultural machines producers and importers. Ukraine's sector of agriculture has been in an up-trend. This has translated into favourable condition for doing business and investing in Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, investment expenditure for agricultural equipment has doubled to reach 123 million dollars. Imported tractors and combine-harvesters are mainly purchased by 500 to 5,000 hectares farms. They buy technologically advanced and therefore more expensive machines, although simple and inexpensive models are also in great demand. This data, published just before the commencement of first International Fair of Agricultural Techniques EuroAgro, held from 17 to 19 November in Lviv is a good herald for companies which join the Expo; Ukrainian farmers will certainly be interested in the exhibition. Targi Kielce and GalExpo - Lviv exhibition centre have already begun intensive preparations for the EuroAgro; more and more companies are encouraged to exhibit.
- For all these years we have organised the largest indoor agricultural technology trade-show staged in expo halls [ed. the International Fair of Agricultural Techniques AGROTECH] and therefore we have established trust among exhibitors. They are happy and willing to return to Kielce expo - says Dariusz Michalak, Trade Fair Department Director at Targi Kielce, the co-organiser of EuroAgro. - We have closely observed the market and have discovered potentials our exhibitors are now offered with this new presentation platform. Ukraine's investments in farm equipment have been increasing. There are Polish companies that have already marked their presence in Ukraine's market. Data related to agricultural machines import and the upward trends suggest, that the market is open and ready for modern technologies from abroad. Lviv Agricultural Technology gives Polish companies the opportunity to benchmark their offer, verify Ukrainian farmers' purchasing power and find out whether they are have a chance to come onto Ukrainian market.
The Lviv EuroAgro will be complemented with the second "Polish Agriculture Days" organized by the Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Polish Embassy in Kiev. The event will include the conference on "Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in Industry and Agri-food sector", companies presentations and B2B meetings. Former Ukraine's Minister of Agriculture Oleksij Pavlenko during the international conference on agriculture held in March in Jasionka (Podkarpacie Region) emphasized that Ukraine's government wants to draw inspiration from Polish solutions in agriculture.
- Thanks to the partnership of Lviv exhibition centre and with regional authorities' support, Polish-engineering solutions and ideas have the chance to enter Ukrainian market. This chance must not be wasted. For us this is another challenge. For Polish entrepreneurs this is the opportunity to see whether Ukraine is ready for Polish products - adds Director Michalak.
