The fourth edition of the National Competition - wrap-up
Throughout Poland, even in the smallest municipalities there are new trails and bicycle paths. Interesting initiatives aimed at locals and tourists proliferate. For four year Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Association PTTK has held the Cyclists-Friendly Commune Competition. The PTTK initiative provides an excellent opportunity to promote safe cycling forms and the disseminate the broadly defined idea of cycling. This is also a chance to publicise the information about bicycle-friendly, local government units that create the best conditions for the sustainable cycling development. Municipalities have filed contest applications - their portfolios contained extensive documentation which demonstrated municipalities' cycling-related achievements - photos, videos, clippings, lists of routes, the lists of cycling events, promotional materials, recommendations from cooperating organizations etc.
The certificates and distinctions awarding ceremony was held on 25 September within the scope of the 6th edition of the International Fair of Bicycle Industry KIELCE BIKE-EXPO.
The competition is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Polish Tourist Organization and the Association of Polish Counties.
