At the gala ceremony of the 7th International Fair of Bicycle Industry the prize, which for "Cyclists-Friendly Commune. were presented" Murowana Goślina in the Wielkopolski Voivodeship earned the Grand Prix

CYCLISTS-FRIENDLY COMMUNE

Since 2012 Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Association PTTK as a part of its scheme to the promote cycling tourism has organized a nationwide contest" Cyclists-Friendly Commune." The PTTK initiative provides an excellent opportunity to promote safe cycling forms and the disseminate the broadly defined idea of cycling. This is also a chance to publicise the information about bicycle-friendly, local government units that create the best conditions for the sustainable cycling development. The competition has been granted the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction, Police Headquarters, Polish Tourist Organisation, Association of Polish Counties and Rural Communes of the Republic of Poland.

At the gala ceremony, Mr. Roman Bargieł - President of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Association presented certificates and prizes in the categories municipalities of up to 10,000 inhabitants, municipalities from 10 to 20 thousand inhabitants, from 20 to 50 thousand inhabitants, from 50 to 100 thousand inhabitants and the 100 to 300 thousand inhabitants.

For the first time in the competition history, the Grand Prix has also been awarded. The special entrants were the communes which had previously received the "Cyclists-Friendly Commune" certificate  three times. This year's Grand Prix has been presented to Murowana Goślina municipality from Wielkopolska. The commune was awarded the Minister of Sport and Tourism's prize of 3 thousand PLN and electric bike sponsored by TrybEco - the competition sponsor.
