Eastern Poland has been generating a growing interest among foreign investors. The Conference's first panel discussion served also as a description of macro-region's image among foreign entrepreneurs. The meeting was opened by Mr. Sławomir Majman, the President of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ).

I came right in tine, almost late for the ceremony's beginning, despite the fact I've already visited Targi Kielce on numerous occasions - said Sławomir Majman - today I was driving along the road which had not existed before to the building, which had not been here before either. The fact that this road and this building are here serve as the best proof that the Eastern Poland programme works.

In his speech President Majman focused on the concrete results the program delivered. With EU subsidies there have been 75 investments which generated 6,800 job openings.  The next speaker was Ajay Bisaria, the India Ambassador to Poland

India, for quite some time has been going through a real economic revolution - said ambassador Bisaria - we are interested finding in global partners, not those who come to work in our country but also partners worldwide. For us Eastern Poland is regarded an important window to Europe's markets. As many as 20 companies from India are very interested in investing in Lublin.

Nicolas Lepage, Chargé d'affaires of the Canadian Embassy to Poland informed the audience about Canadian entrepreneurs' appreciation for specializations. Eastern Poland companies dealing with aviation particularly attracted their attention.

The discussion also brought together Ramon Tancinco, Director, IT for Central and Emerging Markets Theatres Cisco Systems, Andrej Motyl Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Poland and Dariusz Szymczycha of Huawei.  The panel was hosted by Magdalena Burnat-Mikosz, Deloitte Poland.

The "Eastern Poland today and tomorrow" held in Targi Kielce continues until 15 October.
