The Targi Kielce Medals and Distinctions competition includes products put forward by Polish Academy of Sciences
The Institute of Physics at the Polish Academy of Sciences has entered the competition with as many as three ground-breaking products. The first development put forward by the scientists from Warsaw is the nanostructures oxide substrate with complex surfaces. Nanostructures can be formed on most standard media, regardless their electrical or optical properties. This is to be covered with the European patent.
The next contestant is an anti-corrosion coatings in the form of thin oxide layers. Materials coated with this kind of coating can be used in broadly-defined medicine, industry, jewellery and for metallic tools. The invention includes ground-breaking development - technological parameters required to produce a tight oxide layer. The process is performed at a very low temperatures (below 100 ° C).
The last-in-series products registered for competition by PAN is base on the same technology - antibacterial surface coating. When implemented, the invention may lead to a substantial reduction in the number of in-hospital and walk-in-centre infections.
