Cityway and Classicway - new urban bikes from Merida - Quality of workmanship and assembly come at the very top of our priorities list, we also attach great value to design - says Jacek Wajda, Product Manager responsible for of Merida new bikes assembled in Poland. First bikes will now be available in shops. - The market response is very good - he adds.

The nine new bikes will comprise the Merida Poland 2016 collection. The brand has been strongly associated with professional cycling groups Lampre-Merida and Multivan Merida Biking Team as well as road cycling and mountain bikes. Now it briskly enters a new segment in Polish market. - One of the main reasons for creating Merida's new, urban bikes is a visible trend. It shows that the so-called mountain bike ceases to be a versatile choice and now is becoming a specialised bicycle. Cities dwellers treat a bicycle as a means of transport, they are much more likely to choose a utility-type bikes, i.e. urban or tourist ones. - explains Jacek Wajda, Product Manager responsible for of Merida Poland's city and trekking bikes. New urban models  - Cityway and Classicway are assembled in Poland, the design had been preceded with a detailed market analysis. - I tried not to duplicate similar solutions. In preparing the new urban bike geometry, I tried to take the middle way on order to make bikes more convenient and least risky for users. I wanted to make these bikes easily manoeuvrable, easy to mount and dismount - says Wajda. As a former cyclist, successful in the masters class (including the Polish championship in 2012 time-race in pairs) Wajda could talk for hours about the frame's geometry. He could talk at length about what is the main idea of the bike he has designed. - Quality of workmanship and assembly come at the very top of our priorities list. This is attained and controlled in many ways; we want to make the customer happy with the max-comfort, safety and trouble-free riding.  We also try to keep price attractive despite top high quality of our bikes.

A full range of new Merida bikes complemented with Freeway trekking models will be put on display starting Thursday September 24. Come over to the D-36 booth during Kielce Bike Expo.
