The Ministers has attended the school principals’ forum held within the EDUKACJA expo
The Ministry of Education’s schooling policy – decisions, plans, conclusions and recommendations; the Minister of Education Krystyna Szumilas concentrated on these issues during her meeting held within the framework of the 10th National Head Teachers' Forum; the event which accompanies the Targi Kielce’s EDUKACJA Expo.
The Minister focused upon the perspective model of education and the Ministry of Education’s work designed to implement this scheme. One of the plan’s elements is to grant the right of “kindergarten education” to all four-year-olds. On the operational level it means that all communes will have to provide for kindergarten places and make them available for all the children who have been registered by parents.
The Ministry plans to subsidise local governments with EU grants; this has been designed to lower the fee down to 1 PLN for every extra hour (i.e. the hour not included in the core curriculum) the child spends in the kindergarten. The subsidies’ objective is also to raise the standards of the infant schools’ preschool and nursery units.
The Minister has also devoted a part of her presentation on discussions of legislation changes to be applied in the Teachers’ Charter.
The Head Teachers' Forum is a part of the EDUKACJA expo; every year it brings together a few hundreds of school principals representing different kinds of schools from all over Poland.
