THE AIR QUALITY, THE GREEN-AREAS CONDITIONS - THIS IS A NUT-SHELL PRESENTATION FOR ...

The organisers of the Urban Greenery and Street Furniture Exhibition Green City Expo are now holing the second in the series of "Greenery in great demand" conferences - 28 February at Targi Kielce.

The topics addressed this yeas by the speakers should be of interest to all of us; it is really us the quality of the air we breathe depends on.   The green areas' state in many Polish cities is also of great significance to our well-being.  The conference will host, inter alia, the professors of the SGGW Warsaw University of Life Sciences  Sławomir Gawroński, Engineer  Edyta Rosłon-Szeryńska PhD. - a landscape architect and a lecturer at the Chair of Landscape Architecture SGGW Warsaw University of Life Sciences  and Szymon Ciupa, Smart City and GIS expert.  Speakers will discuss the problems of phytoremediation - the technology which utilises plants in air purification processes as well as tree protection schemes and cooperation  for green zonesin cities.

The Conference welcome its participants: the city and town authorities, local government, activists, developers, architects, urban furniture and architecture enthusiasts, as well as residents who are familiar with city-greenery related issues.  The Conference is organized Kielce City Hall and Targi Kielce.  The programme  includes:

  • Air phytoremediation in urban areas:  Current status and perspectives- Professor Doctor Hab. Sławomir Gawroński, Faculty of Horticulture, Biotechnology and Landscape Architecture, Department of Natural Fundamentals of Horticulture, SGGW
  • The most valuable trees and shrubs used in urban afforestation in relation to their impact on air quality and the urban climate improvement - Grzegorz Falkowski, Polish Nursery Association,
  • Krakow in green - Łukasz Pawlik, Municipal Greenery Management in Krakow,
  • Tree protection v risk to safety and security  - Engineer Doctor  Edyta Rosłon-Szeryńska PhD. - a landscape architect and a lecturer at the Chair of Landscape Architecture SGGW Warsaw University of Life Sciences.
  • The cross-sectoral cooperation for green areas in Polish cities - an overview of good practices, applied standards and tools- Karolina Maliszewska, the Sendzimir Foundation,
  • Greenery and landscape management in an smart city- Szymon Ciupa, expert on  Smart City and GIS, www.smartcity-expert.eu
