A POLE WINS NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC ADVENTURERS OF THE YEAR TITLE

The Tourism and Water Sports Expo complements the International Sport and Outdoor Equipment Fair KIELCE SPORT EXPO; the events are staged in Targi Kielce from 18th to 20th February. In addition to the presentation  all types of water-related equipment and accessories, the event will abound in a whole array of meetings, trainings sessions and conferences.

One of this year's special-guests to the WATER SPORTS expo  will be Mr. Aleksander Doba

Aleksander Doba, born in 1946, is a Polish traveller and canoeist.  Doba has been the only man in history to sail across the Atlantic Ocean. By the power of his own muscles he travelled from Africa to South America. And there are more equally successful achievements - solo cruise around the Baltic Sea and around Baikal Lake, along Poland's entire coast-line - right from Police to Elblag, cross-country water expedition from Przemysl to Swinoujscie. He has also been the first kayaker to sail down the Vistula River. Aleksander Doba is the also Poland's bronze-medal winner in mountain kayaking championship.

He took to canoe back in 1980 at the "The Alchemist" Canoe Club in Police and at the Academic Tourism & Canoe Club "Pluskon" in Szczecin.

Doba has scored numerous awards and accolades. In 2012 he wrote his first book "Olo on the Atlantic Ocean"; then the PDF publication "Ocean alphabet by Aleksander Doba".

If you want to meet a unique person - full of passion and zeal, join us on  February 20 in Targi Kielce for a special lecture. You will have a chance to get Doba's autograph, take a souvenir photo and buy his book.
