From responsible agriculture through terrorism and process safety

For the three days, the best specialists on safety and security, crisis management and technical supervision will discuss today's risks associated with the use of chemicals. The Global Chemical Safety and Security Summit and the simultaneously-held International Chemical Safety and Security Fair CHEM-SAFETY-EXPO is the world's first initiative designed to promote Polish companies in order for them to become a part of the global chemical safety and security market. Development of international partnerships is the events' objective. Cooperation establishment and presence of international experts will facilitate best practices and experiences transfer in the field of chemical and environmental safety and security as well as know-how dissemination.  A growing number of EU's environmental protection regulations also requires support for Polish industry. Concern for chemical and ecological safety will not impede its development, especially in the coal mining and power generation sector.

- We want Chemss2016 to become Kielce-based  permanent platform for international chemical and environmental safety and security exhibitions, congresses and trainings.- says HE Ambassador - Krzysztof Paturej, President of the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security .

The Summit addressed responsible agriculture, chemicals transport and disposal, rescue-support programs for hazmat emergencies and chemical hazards overview. Papal session during CHEMSS 2016

The session focussed on  Pope Francis' encyclical "Laudato si '- Be Praised" is held on 20 April - this is supposed to be an inspiration for efforts to enhance chemical and environmental safety and security. This is the first encyclical in the Church' history entirely dedicated to natural environment protection. "Laudato si - Be praised" is where Pope Francis points out that man is part of nature and depends on it. Present day threats to environment call for a strong "ecological conversion."   A panel discussion which brings together representatives of the Church, including Pope Francis' friend and secular activists will focus on the Pope's teaching on environment protection. The participants will consider Christian tradition and practice which favour greater commitment to environment protection.

Ukraine in the spotlight

Unstable political situation in Ukraine arouse continuous controversy; not only is this regarded a security threat confined to Ukraine. The situation is believed to be concern for whole Europe. The Ukrainian Forum will mainly focus on development of Ukraine's programmes of modern chemical and environmental safety and security management, critical infrastructure protection which will meet the EU standards. the forum will bring together numerous representatives of Ukrainian agencies and civil society. In the course of the session the Polish-Ukrainian-American exercises under the banner of "Safe Border" will be organised.  This has been designed to counteract illegal cross-border transit of chemicals. Acetone can be one of examples; this chemical can be used by terrorists to build IED.

The best place, the best time!

Parallel to the Global Chemical Safety and Security Summit the first CHEM-SAFETY-EXPO will be staged in Targi Kielce. The expo provides an excellent opportunity for specialists, experts and industry-insiders to exchange experiences and know-how in preventing and counteraction of uncontrolled  use chemicals and hazardous materials.

- CHEM-SAFETY Expo and CHEMSS 2016 Summit are held for the first time. Our centre boasts many-year experience; therefore it has been the right decision to use Targi Kielce as the venue for this important, international event  - says Andrzej Mochoń PhD, Targi Kielce President of Board. - It is a sign of the time that the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security and Targi Kielce have become involved in global discussion about chemical safety and security.  Today's political situation serves as the best proof. This perspective makes us believe that the début-expo has the potentials comparable to our flagship event i.e. the International Defence Industry Exhibition. MSPO is now ranked one of the leading defense industry's events.

The exhibition programme includes fire-brigade live demonstrations of fire-mitigation measure as well as presentation on risks and preventive measures related to hazardous materials handling by DENIOS of Michałowice
