"2014, with regards to the number of incident notifications and intervention has once again proved to be a record-breaking year compared to previous years" - informs the most recent report on the state of cyber security in Poland in 2014. Alarming reports of this kind make global cyber-security a problem that cannot be ignored.

Cyber security requires decision-makers to hold in-depth and problem-focussed discussions at a high-levels.

Today's world faces considerable tensions:  the crisis in Ukraine, the Islamic State's growing powers - these are just examples of the geopolitical changes in the world. Rapid technology development makes the situation even more complex. The conclusions are obvious. No missiles, bombs and tanks are need to cause a black-out in a particular country or to disrupt transport service provision and thus shatter the sense of security.

Countries' and societies' life relies on unimpeded operation of ICT systems,  so does chemical industry, with is processes and factories. Today, the always-increasing number of cyber attacks poses a serious threat, therefore cyber-security plays a vital role in systems reliability.

You are most welcome to participate in the event organized by the Technical Supervision Office (UDT) and the US Department of Public Safety. The forum: "Cybersecurity and Reliability of Industrial Control Systems" is held on 19 April 2016 in Kielce, within the scope of the first  Global Chemical Safety and Security Summit CHEMSS 2016,  www.chemss2016 (Kielce, 18-20 April 2016).
