OVER 52 THOUSAND PLN COLLECTED AT THE CHARITY AUCTION OF PIGEONS

- For me this auction is phenomenonal.  The amount we have received is astounding.  The money will support the institution which helps most severely ill children - i.e. the oncological ward  - says Włodzimierz Wielgus, deputy director of the Regional Polyclinical Hospital which includesŚwiętokrzyskie  Paediatrics Centre.

This year's a charity auction during Targi Kielce  48. Regional Carrier Pigeons Exhibition  raised 52,350 PLN.  PLN 44,350 is earmked for Świętokrzyskie  Paediatrics Centre, 8,000 PLN goes to the Educational and Care Centre in Skarżysko-Kamienna. - We are truly impressed.  The money we have received will used to purchase an e-carpet for our preschoolers - says Aneta Łoboda, the care and education manager in the Educational and Care Centre in Skarżysko-Kamienna.

The racing pigeons charity auction has been organised for the sixth time.  - We are very happy that the event organized at Targi Kielce has generated such a great interest of breeders - says Sławomir Pająk, the President of the Kielce District of the  Polish Association of Carrier Pigeons.

The hammer price for tis year best-selling birds reached PLN 1,500. - Many breeders participate in the auction only to buy or sell pigeons, they want to help children who are ill.  They often bid for pigeons that they do not really need - emphasizes Sławomir Pająk.

And indeed, participants of the Sunday racing pigeonscharity auction often used such arguments.  - We're here for the first time.  We have participated in the auction mainly because of its purpose - the money raised for ill children - says Zbigniew Nowak and friends from Włoszczowa joined the charitable campaign.

This weekend Targi Kielce has been the stage for the following exhibitions:48 the Regional Carrier Pigeons Exhibition , the Świętokrzyskie Exhibition of Pedigree Pigeons and Decorative Poultry and Świętokrzyskie Exhibition of Pedigree Rabbits. There were 735 pedigree pigeons, 677 racing pigeons and 1200 rabbits on show.
