The Global Chemical Safety and Security Summit accompanied with the CHEM-SAFETY-EXPO Fair are held from 18 to 20 April 2016 in Targi Kielce; this will certainly be the focal point for the global chemical safety and security milieus.   Targi Kielce in conjunction with the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security  (ICCSS) have assumed the role of a leader in the global discussion about chemical safety and security.

 The CHEMSS 2016's leading themes encompass ecological safety with a special focus on the safe use of chemicals in agricultural production and impact of chemicals on the environment. Failures which result in environment contamination are not rare incidents. In agriculture, fertilizers and plant protection products mismanagement may lead to severe consequences.

Topics discussed in the course of the session: Responsible agriculture and safe fertilizers    - representatives of governments and international chemical industry as well as practitioners will discuss availability of tools designed to increase fertilizers storage, trading and use safety. This will include analysis of domestic and international legislation compatibility in the field of chemical safety in agriculture.

The programme of the session includes:

  • Chemical safety and security in agriculture;
  • Chemical threats and hazards associated with fertilizers mismanagement;
  • Presentation of experiences - China and South Africa.

The session will be held on 18 April from 11.30 to 12.30.

The panellists list includes representatives of: Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Ministry of Agriculture  (Poland),  EU Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development, the USA Agricultural Retailers Association, the USA Fertilizer Institute.
